Microban Levels

Sample level in this collection

David Skinner, author of the "Sasquatch" and "Mas Sasquatch" collections, released his latest set of sokoban levels in February, 2000 and revised them in April, 2000. He describes them this way:

Microban is a set of very small puzzles which have been slowly developing in-between creating puzzles for my regular sets.

This is a good set for beginners and children. Most of the puzzles illustrate a particular concept. More experienced players should also find them interesting, since they are as different from each other as I could make them given their size. Sokoholics could perhaps time themselves on completing the whole set.

This set also contains puzzles which I thought were interesting but too easy to include in my regular sets.

I think 57 can't be done. Tried on and off for quite a few weeks. Got everything before 57

Thanks, An hour (or so) ago, I was looking for an answer to level 17 and found your answer. Then I played up to level 57 and can now return the favor.... The solution i found is: lower gem: 1x left upper gem: 2x left, 3x up lower gem: 3x right upper gem: 4x down, 1x right the gem on the right: 1x up, 3x left lower gem: 1x right, 1x down upper gem: 3x right

I had the moves in my previous comment listed one by one. I see they are now in one line. Read them as... : move(s); etc.; etc.

What now part of my text is filtered out, because they are between ??? OK. Once again read the moves as.... the-gem-to-move: the-move(s); etc.; etc.

This is a good set; however, I must admit I have not tried any others yet -- if these are supposed to be easy, then I'm not ready for any others. I am having particular trouble with puzzle 143. I'm afraid I have worked myself into a bit of a rut with this one and cannot see the solution, which is probably so simple. I'm sure sokoban fans are very familiar with this feeling. If anyone has any tips to offer, they'd be much appreciated.

Nevermind that part about level 143. I downloaded EasySok and was using the following settings found under the "View" menu: "Honor Dead Fields" and "Show Possible Pushes." They helped me break out of the rut I was in. Woot!
